Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on our website at lookinglater.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It covers the website only — the Looking Later iOS app does not use cookies or any advertising or tracking SDK.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for a site to work at all. Others record how a site is used, so its owner can see which pages people visit. “Similar technologies” means things that do a comparable job, such as scripts that record a page view without storing a file.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary. Our website is hosted by Framer and needs no cookies to work. When you answer our cookie banner, your browser keeps your answer in its local storage (as “ll_cookie_consent”) so the banner does not ask again. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (property G-TMMTZNW4NC). We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It loads only after you click Accept in our cookie banner, using Google’s gtag.js script. Once you accept, it sets two cookies:

• _ga — distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted twice. Expires up to 2 years.

• _ga_TMMTZNW4NC — keeps track of a single visit (a “session”) for our specific property. Expires up to 2 years.

Analytics — Framer. Framer, which hosts our site, records aggregate page views for the pages you visit here.

We use analytics for one thing only: understanding which parts of the site people actually read, so we can improve them.

What we do not use

• No advertising cookies. On this site, we do not set advertising cookies or use retargeting, conversion pixels, or any other tracker whose purpose is selling you something.

• No cross-site tracking. We do not follow you to other websites, and we do not buy or receive data about you from anyone who does.

• No ad SDKs or cookies in the app. The Looking Later iOS app contains no advertising or ad-tracking SDK, and no cookies. It does keep its own record of which days you open it and how often, and which part of the app a slot request came from, without any third-party analytics software. You can turn that off with “Share usage statistics” in Profile → Settings → Privacy and safety; see “App usage” and “Slot-request source” in our Privacy Policy.

• No selling or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Your choices

Consent. Google Analytics loads only if you click Accept in our cookie banner. If you click Decline, it does not load and sets no cookies. Framer’s page counts use no cookies and run either way. You can change your answer at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. If you switch from Accept to Decline, Google Analytics stops once you reload the page or close the tab, and does not load again unless you accept. To remove cookies it has already set, delete this site’s cookies in your browser.

Your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either entirely or site by site. Our site works without cookies. If you block or clear this site’s stored data, the banner cannot remember your answer and will ask again.

Opt out of Google Analytics anywhere. Google publishes a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off on every site you visit: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Global Privacy Control. Our site does not read GPC signals. Google Analytics runs only if you click Accept.

Cookies are a website thing, not an account thing

The website cookies and analytics described on this page are not connected to your Looking Later account. We do not link website analytics to your profile, your messages, your location, or anything else inside the app. The site has no sign-in, and nothing on it knows who you are.

Changes

If we start using a new category of cookie, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above, and — where consent is required — ask again before setting it.
