Community Guidelines

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Looking Later is built on a simple idea: plan ahead, show up, and be good to each other. It’s a place for gay and bisexual men to meet — a first date, coffee, or just meeting someone new — on a schedule that works for both of you.

These guidelines describe the community we’re building and what we expect from everyone in it. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Breaking them can lead to content removal, limited visibility, suspension, or a permanent ban — and where someone’s safety is involved, we don’t give second chances.

Be yourself

  • Use recent photos that are actually you. Catfishing, heavily misleading photos, and AI-generated “you” aren’t allowed.

  • Be honest in your profile — including your age. One person, one account.

  • Don’t impersonate anyone else, and don’t run an account on someone else’s behalf.

Adults only

Looking Later is strictly 18+. No one under 18 may use the App, appear in photos on it, or be discussed or sought in any way. We have zero tolerance here: we remove accounts, preserve evidence, and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement.

Respect each other

You don’t have to be interested in everyone. You do have to be decent to everyone.

  • No harassment, bullying, threats, or hate speech.

  • No racism, transphobia, femmephobia, ageism, body-shaming, or HIV or health-status stigma. “Preferences” aren’t a license to demean people — you can say what you’re looking for without putting anyone down.

  • Rejection happens. Take no for an answer the first time; don’t message someone who has stopped responding or blocked you, and don’t create new accounts to get around a block.

  • If a conversation or meetup didn’t go the way you hoped, don’t take it out on the other person in ratings, messages, or reports.

Their privacy is your responsibility

People share things on Looking Later — photos, health information, plans — with you, not with the internet.

  • Never screenshot, save, or share someone else’s photos, private-album content, messages, or profile details. What’s shared with you stays with you.

  • Never disclose someone’s identity, sexuality, health status, location, or presence on this app to anyone else — no outing, no doxxing, ever.

  • When someone shares a private album with you, honor the terms they chose. Access can be revoked; trust, once broken, usually isn’t.

Health information: optional, unverified, no shaming

  • Sharing health details on your profile is always optional. Nobody owes you their status, test dates, or medical history.

  • Profile health information is self-reported and unverified — treat it as a conversation starter, not a guarantee, and make your own health decisions.

  • Never mock, pressure, out, or exclude someone over their health status. Status-shaming is treated as harassment.

Show up

Looking Later runs on people keeping plans. Flakiness breaks the whole idea.

  • Only request or accept a booking you actually intend to keep.

  • Plans change — that’s fine. Cancel as early as you can, in the app, so the other person can make other plans.

  • Repeated no-shows and last-minute cancellations hurt your standing in the community and can lead to restrictions.

  • Rate honestly after a meetup. Ratings exist to keep the community reliable — not to settle scores.

Keep public spaces PG

  • Public profile photos must be appropriate for a general audience — no nudity or explicit content. Keep anything more private to private albums, shared person-to-person by choice.

  • No graphic or explicit content in profile text, slot descriptions, or anywhere another user hasn’t chosen to see it.

Keep it legal, keep it real

  • No commercial services of any kind: no escorting, no selling content or subscriptions, no promotion, no solicitation.

  • No buying, selling, or promoting drugs or other illegal goods or services.

  • No scams, spam, begging, fundraising, or requests for money — and never send money to someone you met here.

  • No violence, and no encouraging or glorifying it. Threats of any kind end an account.

Meet smart

Planning ahead is Looking Later’s superpower — use it for safety too.

  • Chat enough to feel comfortable before you confirm. Video-call if you want extra certainty.

  • Tell a friend where you’re going and when you expect to be back.

  • For a first meeting, consider somewhere public, and keep your own way to leave — your ride, your keys, your call.

  • Trust your gut. You can decline, cancel, leave, block, and report at any point. You never owe anyone a meetup — a confirmed booking is a plan, not an obligation to stay anywhere you don’t feel safe.

Reporting and enforcement

  • You can block anyone, instantly and silently — they won’t be told.

  • You can report a profile, photo, or conversation from inside the App. Reports are confidential: we never reveal who reported.

  • We review reports, and we act: removing content, limiting visibility, suspending, or permanently banning accounts. For anything involving minors, violence, or credible threats, we involve law enforcement.

  • If something happened that made you unsafe, report it even if you also handled it with a block — reports protect the next person too.

  • Think we got a call wrong? Reach us at support@lookinglater.com.

If you’re in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Then report to us — we’ll take it from there.

These guidelines evolve with the community. When we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
